On Monday, December 2, at 6:30 p.m., at PS 32 in Carroll Gardens, the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development and the New York City Department of City Planning will present an update on the future of the Gowanus Green/Public Place site to Brooklyn Community Board 6’s Economic, Waterfront, Community Development and Housing Committee.
Gowanus Green/Public Place is a 5.8-acre site along the western bank of the Gowanus Canal, just to the south of 5th Street. A plan to redevelop the site has existed for more than a decade, but has been on hold pending the Superfund cleanup of the Gowanus Canal.
