Please review shared Google doc before the meeting so we can finalize and send it. \nReview material Eymund Diegel sent us\, particularly the information about contaminants left in the ground when the Whole Foods lot was “remediated.”  I suspect we will all have questions about that and what\, if anything\, can be done or should be done about it now. I cannot tell from the list what “safe” levels are for the toxins listed\, though I know the lead levels are definitely high. I think we should be asking EPA/DEC if there was anything done to stabilize the land.  Was in situ stabilization used? Do we know? Do they? \nI also want to follow up with the contractor doing the groundwater survey for DEP in Brooklyn.  Jo Anne Simon is also following up with them to ask that they check levels in Gowanus. \nOn that note\, a team of students from Pratt conducted a flood-risk survey and have a presentation we could watch. However\, their classes run till 8 p.m. I want to suggest that we hold next month’s meeting a bit later at 7:30 to allow them to join us. \nAll Gowanus CAG meetings are open to the public\, unless specifically noted otherwise.
