{"id":1247,"date":"2016-04-14T13:20:13","date_gmt":"2016-04-14T17:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gowanuscag.org\/?p=1247"},"modified":"2016-04-16T22:50:22","modified_gmt":"2016-04-17T02:50:22","slug":"cag-resolution-requesting-30-day-comment-period-cso-retention-tank-siting-decision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gowanuscag.org\/index.php\/2016\/04\/14\/cag-resolution-requesting-30-day-comment-period-cso-retention-tank-siting-decision\/","title":{"rendered":"CAG Resolution Requesting 30-Day Comment Period on CSO Retention Tank Siting Decision"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">At its March, 2016 general meeting, the Gowanus Canal Community Advisory Group passed the following resolution, originally proposed by the CAG\u2019s Water Quality\/Technical\u00a0Committee, requesting a 30-day public comment period once\u00a0the EPA and New York City on the siting of a CSO retention tank and related facilities at the north end of the Gowanus Canal:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The CAG\u00a0believes that pending EPA decisions\u00a0may effectively change the Record of Decision. Such a potential deviation warrants the establishment of\u00a0an official Public Comment Period.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The CAG hereby resolves and requests that the\u00a0EPA include a Public Comment Period as part of any CSO tank agreements made with New York City, and for any impending actions affecting remediation plans for the upland Fulton MGP site.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the CAG&#8217;s resolution, the EPA has agreed to establish a 30-day comment period, as outlined in the <a href=\"http:\/\/gowanuscag.org\/epa-new-york-city-reach-agreement-on-siting-of-cso-retention-tanks\/\" target=\"_blank\">agreement on siting of CSO retention tanks<\/a> that it announced on April 14, 2016, and communicated to the CAG\u00a0in a letter from EPA Region 2 Emergency &amp; Remedial Response Division Director Walter Mugdan dated April 13, 2016.
