{"id":2708,"date":"2017-10-26T14:09:35","date_gmt":"2017-10-26T18:09:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gowanuscag.org\/?p=2708"},"modified":"2017-10-26T14:09:35","modified_gmt":"2017-10-26T18:09:35","slug":"gowanus-canal-community-advisory-group-resolution-preliminary-sites-nrda-restoration-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gowanuscag.org\/index.php\/2017\/10\/26\/gowanus-canal-community-advisory-group-resolution-preliminary-sites-nrda-restoration-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Gowanus Canal Community Advisory Group Resolution on Preliminary Sites for NRDA Restoration Process"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">At its September 26, 2017\u00a0general meeting, the Gowanus Canal Community Advisory Group passed the following resolution, originally proposed by the CAG\u2019s Land Use Committee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resolution on Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration Process for the Gowanus Canal and its Surrounding Environs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whereas the EPA Gowanus Canal Community Advisory Group [CAG] seeks the best possible environmental restoration for the canal and its environs, and an Ecological Risk Assessment (ERA) of the Gowanus Superfund site was conducted by the EPA;<\/p>\n<p>Resolved, the CAG urges the Natural Resource trustees conducting a Damage Assessment to consider the preliminary sites listed below for actions promoting environmental restoration proposals that have a direct beneficial impact on the canal and its environs.<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary Sites:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 Salt Lot<br \/>\n\u2022 Lowes Bulkhead\/ Home Depot Waterfront<br \/>\n\u2022 Edge of Pathmark Site Along Canal<br \/>\n\u2022 Gowanus Bay Terminal<br \/>\n\u2022 Street Ends &amp; Turning Basins<br \/>\n\u2022 Public Place Waterfront<br \/>\n\u2022 Carroll Park &amp; Thomas Greene Playground<br \/>\n\u2022 Under the Tracks Playground<br \/>\n\u2022 RTA-1 site<br \/>\n\u2022 Sunset Park Piers<br \/>\n\u2022 Gowanus Canal Bed<br \/>\n\u2022 NYCHA and other publicly-owned properties within the watershed<br \/>\n\u2022 Bush Terminal Park<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At its September 26, 2017\u00a0general meeting, the Gowanus Canal Community Advisory Group passed the following resolution, originally proposed by the CAG\u2019s Land Use Committee.
