Gowanus Canal Superfund Cleanup Community Update #3

Contractors working under the supervision of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have completed the installation of pipe pile bulkheads at the entrance to the filled-in 1st Street Turning Basin. First Day of Dredging of Gowanus Canal Remedial Target Area 1

Contractors working on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency are expected to begin dredging Remedial Target Area 1 (RTA1), the upper portion of the Gowanus Canal, on Monday, November 16th, marking the start of the Superfund cleanup of the canal. EPA Issues Administrative Order Requiring Start of Gowanus Canal Superfund Site Cleanup
