The Gowanus Canal Superfund site, like many U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Superfund sites, has a Community Advisory Group, or CAG, under the EPA’s auspices. The Gowanus Canal CAG website is designed as a communication resource to present information regarding the Gowanus Canal CAG’s work.

The Gowanus Canal CAG is a forum for dialogue between representatives of all segments of the community about the US EPA Superfund clean-up of the Gowanus Canal and other related issues of concern to the communities surrounding the Canal.

The Gowanus Canal CAG’s roles include disseminating information to the community; gathering information from the community and various sources; discussing and assessing the information; adopting and voicing positions and/or providing information to allow CAG individual members and organizations to voice and/or adopt positions.
